About Me

My photo
Kansas City, Missouri, United States
Welcome to my blog. I'm Stephanie and this is my photography. I am a daughter, sister, aunt, friend, wife to an amazing man, a mother a five onry kids and a photographer. Very rarely will you find me without my camera or a line of children in tow. My photography is my passion. I get my inspriation from my family and try to portray that into my work. I love photographing the innocence of a child, love of a family, or the randomness of an object that catches my eye. Photography makes me happy and it relieves some of the stress of my hectic life. I'm not in it for the big bucks because I think it's crazy to charge an outrages price to capture someones memories. Im in it for just that, capturing memories, both mine and others. So sit back and hopefully enjoy my photography. And if you live in my area and would like to set up a session; email me at stephgallipeau@yahoo.com. Prices and Avaliablity can be found in a link at the bottom of the page. Also leave me some comments I'd like to hear what you think! Enjoy! & Find me on Facebook http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Stephanie-Gallipeau-Photography/122803949512

Week 6/52 - Botanical Feb

So before I got this weeks photo done, I was wondering where in the world I was going to find flowers in Feb. to take pictures of. Well last night when my wonderful husband came home from work he had bought me 2 dozen red and pink roses for Valentines Day. So this morning I got up and was able to do the assignment for this week. So enjoy!

And because my roses are SO beautiful, here are a couple more shots!

Playing Catch Up

Over the last couple of weeks we've been in the process of moving so I haven't had access to the internet, however I have been keeping up on the 52 week challenge. So now that we are all settled in to our new home and have my internet back I can post the pictures for last couple of weeks. Enjoy!

Week 4/52 - Water ... what better than rubber duckies to add fun to a water shot!

Week 5/52 - Sports... a little good ole bowling! This is probably my favorite shot from my daughters birthday bowling party. I love her stance and the motion blur around her arms.

More of Downtown KC

Just thought I'd share a few more shots from my outting today!

3/52 Show Your Town

So I wandered down to good ol' downtown Kansas City today to get some shots of my town for this weeks subject. This is a shot of the Sprint Center that was just recently built last year or so. It also shows reflections of the Power and Light District. Thought it was a good choice for this subject!

2/52 What Defines Me

There is no question that what defines me is my family. From my parents to my children to my husband. They are all a part of what makes me, me. Some say I have my dad's stubborness and need for "finer things" and some say I have my mom's mouth that can sometimes get me into trouble! I say get my craziness from them both and yet I can find sanity from talking to them when things get just a little too hectic in life. Then I look at my children. Heaven help them, they are tiny little me's. They are just as goofy, stubborn and passionate as I am. My girls are will dance and sing like a fool and stare in the mirror at every glance at themselves, just as I do. My son will argue with anyone just to get his way or have things done his way, because he has the same self proclaim OCD that demands things to be done one way (our way) and one way only. And then of course there is my husband. He is the male version of myself. Its actually a scary thing if you know us. But he's what keeps me grounded, he's my rock and my best friend. Nothing in this life has ever come before any of them and nothing ever will. I pride myself in being a mother and wife... it's what I was born to become.

So my picture for this week is a little different. It is of my girls and husband but at a different perspective than normal. I really liked the way it came out so that is why I chose it.

Week 1 of 52 Photo Challenge

This is my first entry for the 1 a week challenge of 2009. This was also taken with my new 50mm f/1.8 lens (in love with it!) Just a simple shot of the wind chime that hangs on my porch.

BTW... here is the link to the list if any one is intrested in doing the challenge also. http://ctpotw.wordpress.com/2008/12/07/hello-world/

Eight Years Later

Today is a day of remembrance and sadness for me. Eight years ago today my grandma passed away. This woman was the greatest. She was a third parent to me growing up! We were very close my entire life, she took care of me and my family the way a grandma should and then some. In the end, I was able to take of her, but it still left me wanting to do so much more. She was such a fighter; been through more medically & physically imaginable it seemed. But in the end lung cancer took her way to soon. I know in the past eight years she's been shaking her head at me, saying "Oh Stephie!" but I know she would be proud of me too. Because she is one of the people that made me who I am today. I still miss her everyday and hate that she's missed out on so much of my life and never got to meet my 3 children. They all would have loved each other so much.

Grandma, I love you and miss you so much. You are never forgotten and always in my heart. Rest quitelty in peace as I hope you have always done. Until the day I see you again, I love you.

Forever your granddaughter,

*Stephie*

Holiday Chaos is Over!

So with xmas finally over I'm repeaing the benifits. I finally got a DSLR camera (Nikon D40) and couldn't be happier. I love it. I have already taken down our tree and decorations in order to have some room to shoot some photos. The kids have their new things keeping them busy, as well as the hubby, so it gives me plenty of time to practice with my new camera! Here are some shots I've taken with it so far.

I will figure this all out eventually! =)

Whats keeping the hubby occupied while I'm clicking away.

...And then of course the kiddos!

Look, I got catchlights!!! Yeay!

When Laundry gets put Aside

Instead of doing the housework that needs to be done I've been trying to get some good "christmasy" photos. I would like to get some of the snow that we've got in the last few days, but the only time I've ventured out in that butt cold weather was to see my best friends new baby. *Congrats to her btw! However I have managed to do some inside shots. I did get a pretty decent one of my tree last night. I love the star burst effect you get from the lights when you play with the aperture. I also got a couple others that I really liked; so here are a few that I've taken over the last couple of days. Enjoy!
